Understanding Autism and Spectrum Disorders: The Unseen Role of Allergies

Autism, ADD, ADHD, and other autism spectrum disorders are increasingly common in today's world. As these conditions become more prevalent, it's crucial to explore not just what they are, but also what could be exacerbating them - aspects often overlooked in mainstream discussions - and also what could make it better!

The Overlooked Role of Allergies

While many parents diligently seek ways to support their children, including diet and therapy modifications, a significant aspect often goes unnoticed - the role of food and environmental allergies. It's heartbreaking to see the daily struggles of these families, especially when potential triggers, like dietary sensitivities, are not considered.

For instance, I once encountered a situation where a child's temper tantrums appeared linked to his consumption of sugar-loaded cupcakes. The mother, understandably overwhelmed, couldn't see the potential connection between his diet and behavior. This isn’t an isolated case; it’s a common scenario in many households.

Family Challenges and The Ripple Effect

The impact of spectrum disorders extends to the entire family. Sleepless nights, disrupted routines, and the often unnoticed emotional needs of siblings are just a few of the challenges these families face. It's a journey that requires immense strength, and these parents are indeed heroes in their resilience.

A New Perspective: Allergies as a Key Factor

I believe it's essential to consider allergies - not only to foods but also to environmental factors - as potential contributors to the difficulties experienced by children with spectrum disorders.

Identifying and addressing these allergies can lead to significant improvements in behavior and overall family well-being.

Introducing The Autism Allergy Kit

This is why I created The Autism Allergy Kit. It's designed to eliminate the most common food and environmental allergies and sensitivities. This kit is particularly helpful for children with autism and ADHD, where so-called 'bad behavior' might be a reaction to an undiagnosed allergy, not a fault of the child or their parents.

Real-Life Success Stories

The most dramatic Allergy Kit story is about an eight year-old boy, who always was very angry and very violent, destroying the house they live in with knives or scissors, and even chasing his mother with them. She was, of course, terrified. They started to use the Kit. This was before I had developed The Autism Kit, but a few treatments changed him completely. The parents also changed their diet and lifestyle, and he totally recovered.

Another case was an eleven year-old patient, who could not behave in school, fought with peers and teachers, as well as with his mother and relatives, when he was in a special ed class. After treating him a few times, he totally changed, got out of the special ed class, and became an honor student all the way to college.

Everybody is not open to suggestions or trying something different, especially if they think it is too woo-woo.

I once suggested to a mother that maybe her child’s temper tantrum came from the cup cakes loaded with sugar and topped with colored sugar, which she used to buy for him when she went grocery shopping, to calm him down while she was doing her thing, and he was busy eating them.

She had to hurry up, because as soon as he finished the cupcakes, he went wild, and she had to either buy him more, or leave the store.

But she would not believe it could be allergies - no way. Who was I to tell her anything?
